Over 8,000 staff in 380 offices across 27 countries, last year they placed 80,000 people in permanent jobs, & 300,000 into temporary roles. Hays had undertaken a massive technology innovation and renovation programme and Proventeq worked with them as Solution Architecture & Design consultants. Proventeq helped Hays achieve technology innovations by providing specialist consultancy. 

The challenges

  • Mapping OpenText Docs Open Security Model on to SharePoint security Model, including item level security
  • Library-wide security mapping in Hummingbird was required to be replicated in the new SharePoint.  
  • Large library required splitting into two different document libraries in SharePoint. 
  • Customised views needed for the new target SharePoint system 
  • Design and implementation of SharePoint environment 
  • The existing metadata had to be enhanced to fit into the new metadata model 
  • Handling of users who had left the organisation 
  • Splitting content into separate libraries based on metadata 
  • Splitting content across sub-folders to ensure content is kept within the threshold limit for default views in SharePoint online 

 

The Migration Solution

  • Solution Architecture & Design - Business critical applications like Compliance management & Contracts management using a mix of latest Microsoft .Net and Oracle technologies 
  • EAI - Designing a SOA platform for integrating the core CRM system with back-office (PeopleSoft) and other business applications  
  • Enterprise Search – Complex Integration of Google Search Appliance to the core CRM platform for searching through the key business entities (Candidates, Contacts and Jobs) 
  • ECM advisory – New generation Portal and Content managed website using the Oracle WebCenter/UCM Platform (due to go live shortly)  
  • BI - Operational Management Information platform using Oracle BI as the front end and SSAS as back end  
  • Mobile Apps - iPhone and Android applications for Job searching (live) and timesheet submission (ongoing)  
  • Content Migration – Migration of legacy Intranet site on to SharePoint, Migration of 1.1 Million+ Compliance documents into SharePoint, Migration of legacy website to Oracle WebCenter  

 

The Results
